radio Sunday

I woke early, decided to fix Enie's radio. Spent time last night going through the tuning . But it was still off looked at the master clock.. set that and done. So I started looking at his mic.. first checked if the connections were good.. then tried my cable on his and his on mine.. 

The preamps worked differently but the problem was in his cable. Thought the dn button was not working..so opened the mic.. found the preamp batteries dead and one shorted.. mune were weak too, but not dead. Replaced them all. 

Got the dn button working . Seemed to be dirty . So opened his cable and mine . His has no shield on the audio wire.. i had a new cable so I started removing his connectors and qiting to the new cable. I wired the last one backwards..and fixed it . Now aeems to be working!

So I moved to the 940.. replaced the coil. Reassembled.. powered up . No smoke! But still no tx.. checked voltages, good.. found a miswired connection..still no tx . I need to trace through the TX/PTT lines . Cause even the SEND button isnt working.
